How to verify your wordpress.com blog in google, alexa, yahoo and bing


It is very important to verify your accounts in Google (Alexa), Yahoo, Bing, to have a better site ranking, and increase your traffic. I encounter problems when trying to get my blog verify in google, yahoo, alexa, and bing. I found the solution to the problem and decided to share the steps with you. As you probably know depending on the template that you use to create your blog the menu changes. So, many time you wont  be able to follow the steps. I will bring you to ways to verify your blog site .

The steps in Alexa,

  • Create your account in Alexa
  • go to the top bar that says “Site Tools”
  • on the bottom you will find “Claim my site”
  • write your URL on the space i.e. http://andreacalleblog.com
  • you will select option number 2, Or, add this meta tag to the home page of : Select all the meta tag that appears and Copy it.

Now go to your wordpress.com Blog

  • sign in
  • go to appearance
  • Select editor
  • then select editor
  • header
  • paste the code
  • hit update file

Go back to Alexa.com then click verify my meta tag, it should tell you that you have successfully claim your site.

if this doesn’t work,

  • go by to your  blog
  • go to tools
  • Available tools
  • in the bottom you will see “webmaster  tool verification”
  • there you have the options of Google Webmaster Tools, yahoo Webmaster Tools, bing Webmaster Tools
  • you will paste the code generated by Alexa in the Google Webmaster Tools
  • press save changes

Go back to Alexa.com then click verify my meta tag, it should tell you that you have successfully claim your site.

To verify your wordpress.com  blog in Yahoo

  • Go to yahoo Site Explorer
  • put your site URL and press add my site
  • choose the second option ” By adding a META tag to my home page.”
  • Copy the meta tag provided

Now go to your wordpress.com Blog

  • sign in
  • go to appearance
  • Select editor
  • then select editor
  • header
  • paste the code
  • hit update file

Go back to Yahoo then click verify my meta tag, it should tell you that you have successfully claim your site.

if this doesn’t work,

  • go by to your  blog
  • go to tools
  • Available tools
  • in the bottom you will see “webmaster  tool verification”
  • there you have the options of Google Web master Tools, yahoo Webmaster Tools, bing Webmaster Tools
  • you will paste the code generated by Yahoo in the Yahoo Webmaster Tools
  • press save change

Go back to Yahoo then click verify my meta tag, it should tell you that you have successfully claim your site.

To verify your wordpress.com  blog in Bing

Now go to your wordpress.com Blog

  • sign in
  • go to appearance
  • Select editor
  • then select editor
  • header
  • paste the code
  • hit update file

Go back to Bing webmaster toolthen click verify my meta tag, it should tell you that you have successfully claim your site.

if this doesn’t work,

  • go by to your  blog
  • go to tools
  • Available tools
  • in the bottom you will see “webmaster  tool verification”
  • there you have the options of Google Web master Tools, yahoo Webmaster Tools, bing Webmaster Tools
  • you will paste the code generated by Yahoo in the Yahoo Webmaster Tools
  • press save change

Go back to Bing webmaster toolthen click verify my meta tag, it should tell you that you have successfully claim your site.

      If you go to alexa it gives you all d steps and it tells you you need to verify in the space in wordpress where is is for google

    Thanx a lot! All I found in WP.com forums are frustrating…I manage to certify my page for Alexa by pasting the meta content into Yahoo field on web master tools on wp.com and it worked! I used Yahoo’s cause I already use my Bing’s and Google’s space to verify my site…

      yo prefiero hacer primero la verificacion the alexa, la borra apenas sea verificada por alexa y coloca la de google. No puede colocar las dos por que ninguna de las dos le va a funcionar. Primero hace Alexa, la borra y luego hace google, y ya deja la de google. Cualquier otra pregunta no dude en escribirme. Me alegra que le ayudara mi post. Feliz dia
